August bank holiday saw Jeremy Lefroy join local councillors and young Conservatives walk in a day the 20 or so miles across Stafford constituency from Hixon (newly included after boundary changes) to the Shropshire border. Hixon has come into the constituency after the recent boundary changes.
They raised £2,000 for Katharine House Hospice in Stafford, the County Air Ambulance and a fund which Jeremy is helping to se up to support social enterprises in the constituency.
Cllr Mark Heenan - Stafford Borough's youngest councillor who was elected in May - said afterwards: "It was a tough day but very rewarding. We walked through some beautiful and varied country from the Trent valley, across the rolling woodland of Cannock Chase to the fertile farmland towards Shropshire."
The group also took the opportunity to clear litter from a car park on Cannock Chase en route.
