Jeremy Lefroy has spoken out after the Conservative Motion to the House of Commons to suspend the Post Office closures failed.
"These closures have not been properly thought through and could damage communities. We are not going to get Post Offices back if we shut them. The Government seems to be using arbitrary criteria and not looking at the needs of an area.
"We need to pause and look at the ways in which we can increase the viability of the Post Offices in the communities which wish to retain them.
"It is difficult to see how Stafford's Labour MP can justify his vote against suspending the closure programme and yet at the same time back campaigns to keep local Post Offices open. Other Staffordshire MP's either voted to suspend the closure programme or at least abstained."
